A deworming drug used in animals, adapted for use in humans, is effective for treating children in Tanzania with whipworm (Trichuris trichiura), report reserachers from Switzerland and Tanzania (Speich B et al. N Engl J Med. 2014;770[7]:610-616).

 

Oxantel pamoate, a deworming drug used in animals, has been adapted for use in humans and was found to be effective in treating children in Tanzania with whipworm (Trichuris trichiura).
